Quests Worth Doing in MapleStory Classic World (Best EXP and Rewards by Level)

Quests give a fixed amount of EXP and mesos, often with potions, scrolls or equipment on top. This guide ranks the best quests in Classic World by EXP reward for each level range, and then lists the quest lines that end in equipment.

How to read the tables: quests are grouped by their Min. level, the level you need to start them. Within each group, they’re sorted by EXP. Many quests are later steps in a quest line, so you may need to finish an earlier quest first. Each quest page lists what you need to start it. Every NPC listed is on Maple Island or Victoria Island.

Best quests for Lv 1–9

Maple Island quests pay small rewards. The best early quests are in Lith Harbor, where five quests open at Lv 8, as soon as you step off the ship.

Olaf’s quests are the Olaf’s Training line, and Teo’s are Teo’s Collection. For every quest on the starting island, see the Maple Island guide.

Best quests for Lv 10–19

Rewards jump once you have a job. Most of this band’s best quests open at Lv 17 to 19, around Henesys, Ellinia and Perion.

Chief Stan’s two quests belong to Alex the Runaway Kid, which starts with Alex’s Request in Kerning City. The fossil quests are split between Winston’s Fossil Dig-up and Dr. Betty’s Research on Plants.

Two other kinds of quest open in this band. Each crafting NPC has a Lv 10 apprentice quest and a Lv 15 follow-up (see the Beginner’s Guide). From Lv 12, the Community Board in Henesys and the one in Kerning City post requests that count toward Citizenship (Grand Launch Release Notes).

Best quests for Lv 20–29

This band is led by Caretaker’s Ledger, six quests at Lv 28 worth 4,090 EXP each that take you to every job town.

The six Lv 25 crafting quests, such as A Blacksmith in My Own Right!, also give 3,060 EXP and 804 mesos each.

Best quests for Lv 30–49

Perion’s Lv 48 quests pay 11,800 EXP each. Two of them list 14 Greater attack scrolls among their rewards, one for each weapon type.

The Alligators quests are part of The Alligators at the Swamp, which follows I Need to Find My Daughter 2. Maya’s two quests come after Maya’s Second Collection, and the Flying Medicine pair after Icarus’s In search of Wing the Fairy.

Best quests for Lv 50 and up

The highest EXP rewards on Victoria Island come from John in Lith Harbor, at 25,900 EXP per quest from Lv 65.

Old Gladius follows Delivering the Weird Medicine, the last step of Maya’s earlier quest line.

Quest lines that end in equipment

These quest lines all reward a piece of equipment along the way. “Total EXP” adds up every quest in the line.

Of these lines, Mr. Wetbottom’s Secret Book gives the most EXP below Lv 50, at 49,140 across nine quests. John’s Present gives the most of all, at 77,700.

To plan your training around these, pair them with Training Spots by Level, and check the Bosses Guide when you’re strong enough.
