Quest text

Heard Pia in Henesys got her hands on a strange book. What kind of book could it be? Let’s go see her.
The book is about the Oldest Snail in Maple World and its Rainbow-colored Snail Shell. It looks like Pia is interested in the snail’s shell because it makes wishes come true. Jay is the original owner of the book; he must know something about the author. Let’s go see him.
Jay said that the author of The Snail Legend was his great-grandfather, Alloy, who was also Mrs. Ming Ming’s grandfather.

To start

NPC for this step: Pia .

  1. Have you heard about the rumor of the Rainbow-colored Snail Shell? It’s a special gift that can only come from the oldest snail in Maple World. Rumor has it that it can make wishes come true! Wow! I’d give anything to have one...

  2. What? You think this rumor is a lie? It can’t be! It's here in this book! The Snail Legend has details about the Rainbow-colored Snail Shell. It has to be true!

  3. However, the book doesn’t describe where to find the snail. If only I had a clue on where to find the snail, I’d go for it immediately and get the Rainbow-colored Snail Shell for myself. I must try to gather information...

  4. So how about you? I'd let you in on it if you’re Interested, too. If we do get our hands on the Rainbow-colored Snail Shell, I promise I will share it with you fairly. What do you think?

Branch 1

  1. First, go meet with Jay, as this book was borrowed from him. He has a vast collection of books and knows a great deal about them. I must know who wrote The Snail Legend. We will start our search for the snail shell with him and eventually track down the snail itself!

Branch 2

  1. Hmm... not interested? How can you turn down a treasure like this? Your loss.

To complete

NPC for this step: Jay .

  1. Hello! You look like an adventurer. How can I help you? Oh, Pia asked you to return this book to me? Pia really shouldn’t have gone through all this trouble—it isn't far at all!

  2. Thank you for returning this. If you’re interested in books, please come by anytime. What? You want to know about the author of The Snail Legend?

Branch 1

  1. Of course I know the author! Alloy isn't just the author of that book—he's my great-grandfather. He was a seaman based in Lith Harbor who loved adventure far more than his work, and he certainly had his fair share of it.

  2. So you’re interested in my great-grandfather? He is somewhat famous, and people sometimes stop by to ask about him. Why don’t you visit my mother, Mrs. Ming Ming? She can tell you more.

Branch 2
Branch 1

  1. You don’t look like you’ve met Jay yet. Have you lost your way? Henesys isn’t a big town to get lost in. You’re terrible with directions, aren’t you?

Branch 2

  1. An adventurer, right? First time in Henesys?

Branch 3

  1. Hey, wait! Don’t leave books lying around, especially if they aren’t yours! Fortunately, someone I know picked it up. What would have happened if it got lost? Jay is usually gentle, but he has zero patience for people who lose his books!
