Dialogue 2 phases

To start

NPC for this step: Daniel the Scholar .

  1. I've finished reading. Every winter, the hearthkeeper carried a lantern into the tomb for each name and laid a name-charm beside it. That was the Lantern Rite. It was how the fairies said goodbye.

  2. The frames were made from fallen boughs. Long ago, the Myewoods gave them freely. They were the fairies' neighbors then, before the deep halls turned wild.

  3. The Myewoods won't give anything freely now, I'm afraid. Could you gather 30 Giant Tree's Boughs from them?

  4. Take them to Jaime the Wandering Explorer. He has scouted the way to the old tomb, and he's handier with tools than I am.

Branch 1

  1. Thank you. I'll keep reading the journal. There's one last page I haven't made sense of yet.

Branch 2

  1. There's no rush. The names in this journal have waited a long time. They can wait a little longer.

To complete

NPC for this step: Jaime the Wandering Explorer .

  1. Boughs from the Myewoods? And Daniel the Scholar sent you? Let me guess: lantern frames.

  2. Fascinating! I've seen lantern hooks carved into the walls, and I always wondered what they were for. Now I know!

  3. I'll build the frames. But the tomb is crawling with things much nastier than Myewoods. Train up a little, then come back and find me. We'll go in together.

Branch 2

  1. I'll need 30 Giant Tree's Boughs for the frames.
